Lateral Education : Future of Indian Education System Gone are the days when students will complete their education and then apply it thereafter. Trend has started, wherein there will always be switching over between education and its application. Upgrading knowledge and skills again and again as per the changing requirements in the business world is the need of the hour. Lateral education in the form of certifications and training may cater to this need. Educational institutions , along with formal 3/4 year degrees will have to take cognizance of these changing requirements and design some skill-based courses accordingly. National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and National Skill Qualifications Framework (NSQF) are working extensively on giving guidelines for this.
